Bolangir: Police rescued nine migrant workers who were being trafficked to Hyderabad at Turekela in Bolangir district on Saturday.
As per reports, the team of cops from the Turekela police station intervened at the railway station to save the workers, and a suspect believed to be a middleman was apprehended.
The workers, originating from various villages within the Turekela block, had been deceived with job promises.
Acting on a tip-off, police officers disrupted the trafficking operation at the Turekela railway station, ensuring the workers’ safety. Initial investigations indicate that the middleman was transporting the workers to Hyderabad; he has since been detained and is under interrogation to uncover the broader trafficking network.
