Mumbai: The official trailer for Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina’s film, Jigra, was released today, September 26. Directed by Vasan Bala, the movie explores the bond between a brother and sister. The trailer showcases the lengths a sister will go to protect her younger sibling. Jigra is set to hit theatres on October 11.
The three-minute-and-one-second trailer for Jigra begins with Alia’s character being jolted awake by a late-night phone call. She can be seen frantically warning her brother, played by Vedang Raina, about something serious. When she discovers that her brother has been arrested in another country, Alia becomes determined to take matters into her own hands and rescue him. Alia’s character is willing to go to extraordinary lengths to save her brother.
In one scene, she can be seen standing with a knife attached to her wrist, asking if an inmate can visit their family under medical circumstances. This scene highlights her desperation to save her brother at any cost.

Alia has also co-produced Jigra with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Talking about the film, the actor had earlier said, “Just a little over a year later, we are ready to launch our second production – Jigra, a beautiful story of courage, passion, and determination. I hope to consistently support compelling narratives that are authentic, enduringly timeless, and work with brilliant creative minds to bring them to life.”
Besides Alia and Vedang, the crime-thriller also features Manoj Pahwa in an imporant role.
