55th International Film Festival of India Opens with Australian Film “Better Man” – N.F Times

Cinema, much like music, has the unparalleled ability to traverse borders and connect souls through the universal language of emotions.

In a celebration of this transformative art form, the 55th  International Film Festival of India (IFFI), being held amidst the vibrant culture of Goa, opened with ‘Better Man’ directed by Michael Gracey. The film is a cinematic tribute to resilience, fame, and the extraordinary life of British pop legend Robbie Williams. The cast and crew of the film walked the IFFI Red Carpet before the screening of the film.

A Grand Opening at IFFI

Before the screening of the film, the cast and crew had their Red carpet walk and the Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Shri Sanjay Jaju, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ms Vrunda Desai, Festival Director IFFI, Shri Shekhar Kapoor and Vice-Chairman of the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), Ms. Delilah M. Lobo, felicitated the film’s producer Mr Paul Currie and actress Ms Raechelle Banno.

In his address before the screening, Mr Paul Currie remarked, “The film is not about how the world perceives Robbie, but rather about how Robbie perceives himself.” He further expressed his enthusiasm for presenting the film at this esteemed platform. Ms. Raechelle Banno shared, “IFFI holds great significance for me, and I am thrilled to present this film to all of you.” The director of the film, Mr. Michael Gracey, joining via video call, stated, “Bollywood cinema has had a profound influence on my work.”

A Musical Biography
