Seoul: BTS’ V, also known as Kim Taehyung, has thrilled fans worldwide with the announcement of his upcoming duet with renowned singer Park Hyo Shin. The digital single, titled “Winter Ahead,” is set to be released on November 29, 2024, at 2 PM KST (10:30 AM IST).
“Winter Ahead” is described as a jazz-pop ballad that beautifully blends the serene vocal tones of V and Park Hyo Shin. The song, written by Jesse Harris, the acclaimed songwriter behind Norah Jones’ hit “Don’t Know Why,” reflects on the joy of companionship and cherishing loved ones as the year comes to a close.
V personally reached out to his longtime friend Park Hyo Shin for this collaboration, marking a significant moment in both artists’ careers. This release continues V’s exploration of musical diversity, following his deeply personal tracks in “Layover” and “FRI (END)S”.
Adding to the seasonal warmth, V has also announced a unique collaboration with the Bing Crosby Estate. He will release a modern reimagining of the classic holiday song “White Christmas” on December 6, 2024. This track will feature V’s distinctive voice seamlessly integrated with a restored, isolated recording of Crosby’s iconic performance.
Currently, V is fulfilling his mandatory military service alongside his BTS bandmates RM, Jimin, SUGA, and Jung Kook. Earlier this year, Jin and J-Hope completed their service obligations. The group is expected to return to full-band activities in late 2025.
