Below is the list of the names of the deceased, as per official sources.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-501940\" src=\"https:\/\/sambadenglish.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/44a0c2a2-8f08-47d4-99cd-d2588aed6cae.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"877\" height=\"755\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sambadenglish.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/44a0c2a2-8f08-47d4-99cd-d2588aed6cae.jpg 877w, https:\/\/sambadenglish.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/44a0c2a2-8f08-47d4-99cd-d2588aed6cae-300x258.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sambadenglish.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/44a0c2a2-8f08-47d4-99cd-d2588aed6cae-768x661.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 877px) 100vw, 877px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Notably, four coaches of the Visakhapatnam-Palasa passenger train derailed on Sunday after it was rammed into by the Visakhapatnam-Rayagada passenger train near Kantakapalli junction in Kothavalasa \u2018mandal\u2019 (block).<\/p>\n<p>According to railway officials, the accident occurred at about 7 p.m. between Alamanda and Kantakapalli in Vizianagaram-Kothavalasa Railway Section of Waltair Division of East Coast Railway Zone.<\/p>\n<p>The accident occurred when the Visakhapatnam-Rayagada passenger train overshot the signal to hit Visakhapatnam-Palasa passenger train from rear while it was waiting for the signal.<\/p>\n<p>Two derailed coaches fell on a goods train on an adjacent track. The affected coaches were badly mangled in the collision.<\/p>\n<p>The injured were shifted to hospitals in Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam. Rescue operations were still on at the accident site. The death toll might further go up.<\/p>\n<p>Overshooting of Signal by Visakhapatnam- Rayagada passenger train led to the collision.
