During the British colonial period, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s grandfather, Mahant Digvijaynath Ji Maharaj, played a crucial role in raising the issue of the Shri Ram Temple. Following his demise, Mahant Avedyanath Ji Maharaj embraced his Gurudev’s resolve, initiating a decisive struggle for the construction of the Shri Ram Temple. In 1984, when the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Yagya Committee was formed in Valmiki Bhawan, Ayodhya, Mahant Avedyanath Ji Maharaj was unanimously elected as the president. He continued to serve as the president of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Yagya Committee throughout his life.

It is worth noting that over 4000 saints of the country and 2500 eminent personalities will be present in this much-anticipated program, which will be held with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s blessings on Paush Shukla Dwadashi, Vikram Samvat 2080 (January 22, 2024).
