They do not have any issue to fight and their leadership has no morality to reach out to the people,” Das said targeting BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi without taking her name.

Addressing a presser today, she alleged that the BJP MP had created a dumping yard at Daruthenga during her tenure as the BMC Commissioner.

“But we are not doing that way. The BMC is committed to clear the garbage and make the city clean and beautiful. Whatever transformation has taken place in a past few years, the BMC is credited for it. The entire team of BMC has been working for the residents. The people are also with us. We assure that no dumping yard will be built in the city anymore,” Das told reporters.

Talking about clearing the garbage from the TSS, she said, “We respect the NGT order. That’s why we have set up a bio-mining unit at Daruthenga, where the city’s wastes were dumped earlier. As Dauthenga is no way used as the dumping yard now, we had decided to switch it to the TSS as a temporary basis. That garbage will be cleared soon. We are processing 1000 MT garbage per day using two trommels and one high-power terex machine. One more terex will be deployed for the operation. The processing capacity will be increased to 3000 MT We will complete it by two months.”

The city’s wastes will be processed at existing 34 micro composting centres (MCCs) and one mega MCC unit that is being built at Palasuni area. All the garbage collected from the BMC localities will be processed, composted and used in service of people. The plastic wastes will be sent to cement factories, she further added.

[ad_2]

[ad_1] Bhubaneswar: With the foul smell emanating from a Temporary Transitional Shelter (TSS) located near Sainiki School making life miserable for residents in Bhubaneswar, the protests by BJP have become a headache for the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
