This auspicious occasion also marks Lord Vishnu appearing in the form of Matsya on the eve of this day.<\/p>\n<p>To express their devotion, people observe the \u2018Satyanarayan\u2019 fast on this day.<\/p>\n<p>Donation and charity work is considered fruitful so people should donate food and clothes to the needy and poor people. Dev Diwali is also celebrated with great grandeur on this auspicious day of Kartik Purnima.<\/p>\n<p>Followers of the Jain religion celebrate this day as the \u2018Jain Festival of Light\u2019.
