{"id":17064,"date":"2023-12-28T11:31:55","date_gmt":"2023-12-28T11:31:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thenftimes.com\/index.php\/2023\/12\/28\/odisha-web-series-barang-1999-in-legal-tangle-ahead-of-ott-release-n-f-times\/"},"modified":"2023-12-28T11:31:56","modified_gmt":"2023-12-28T11:31:56","slug":"odisha-web-series-barang-1999-in-legal-tangle-ahead-of-ott-release-n-f-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thenftimes.com\/index.php\/2023\/12\/28\/odisha-web-series-barang-1999-in-legal-tangle-ahead-of-ott-release-n-f-times\/","title":{"rendered":"Odisha: Web series \u2018Barang 1999\u2019 in legal tangle ahead of OTT release &#8211; N.F Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Bhubaneswar: Anjana Mishra, the survivor of a gangrape incident in 1999, has served legal notice on OTT platform Kanccha Lannka and a few others for defaming her through the web series \u2018Barang 1999\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Mishra has served legal notice on Kanncha Lannka of Glass Dreamz Entertainment Private Limited, the OTT platform\u2019s cofounder-cum-managing director Bibhu Prasad Rath, cofounder-cum-executive director Chitta Ranjan Nayak, Camera Queen Production, its founder Himadri Tanaya Das, YouTube India, Facebook developed by Meta, and the managing director and editor of Argus Pratham Broadcast India Private Limited in connection with the web series.<\/p>\n<p>Mishra (55) served the legal notice through her advocate Bibhu Prasad Tripathy.<\/p>\n<p>The trailer of the web series \u2018Barang 1999\u2019 made false and defamatory descriptions of the gangrape incident with an intention of harming the reputation of Mishra, said Tripathy.<\/p>\n<p>The trailer of the web series was widely circulated through social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll the noticees are jointly and severally liable for damages caused to my client Anjana Mishra (Padhi).
