{"id":19144,"date":"2024-01-21T16:28:44","date_gmt":"2024-01-21T16:28:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thenftimes.com\/index.php\/2024\/01\/21\/bengali-baba-arrested-by-delhi-police-for-love-marriage-scam-n-f-times\/"},"modified":"2024-01-21T16:28:45","modified_gmt":"2024-01-21T16:28:45","slug":"bengali-baba-arrested-by-delhi-police-for-love-marriage-scam-n-f-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thenftimes.com\/index.php\/2024\/01\/21\/bengali-baba-arrested-by-delhi-police-for-love-marriage-scam-n-f-times\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Bengali Baba\u2019 arrested by Delhi Police for love marriage scam &#8211; N.F Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>New Delhi: Self-styled tantrik \u201cBengali Baba\u201d has been arrested for duping several women under the guise of solving their personal issues, especially those related to love marriages and extramarital affairs, a Delhi Police official said on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>A resident of Uttar Pradesh\u2019s Ghaziabad, Harun, 37, a.k.a \u2018Bengali Baba\u2019 used to place advertisements in newspapers, presenting himself as a \u201cTantrik Baba\u201d capable of resolving family disputes, relationship problems, and even business issues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis bold move involved prominently featuring his mobile number, attracting desperate and superstitious people seeking solutions to their woes,\u201d said a Delhi Police official.<\/p>\n<p>Once contacted, Harun assured his victims of foolproof solutions to their problems, requesting them to transfer money online through various UPI accounts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSubsequently, he initiated a ritualistic act over phone calls, reciting mantras to create an illusion that their issues were being addressed. However, this was merely a charade,\u201d said the official.<\/p>\n<p>As days passed without any positive changes in the victims\u2019 lives, they reached out to Harun again, only to face demands for more money.<\/p>\n<p>When some refused to comply, Harun resorted to threatening them, even going as far as threatening harm to their family members.<\/p>\n<p>Harun\u2019s criminal activities first came to light in 2018 when he was booked for cheating at the Safdarjung Enclave police station.
