{"id":24753,"date":"2024-04-05T07:26:53","date_gmt":"2024-04-05T07:26:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thenftimes.com\/index.php\/2024\/04\/05\/congress-releases-manifesto-for-2024-polls-focus-on-caste-census-and-paanch-nyays-n-f-times\/"},"modified":"2024-04-05T07:27:20","modified_gmt":"2024-04-05T07:27:20","slug":"congress-releases-manifesto-for-2024-polls-focus-on-caste-census-and-paanch-nyays-n-f-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thenftimes.com\/index.php\/2024\/04\/05\/congress-releases-manifesto-for-2024-polls-focus-on-caste-census-and-paanch-nyays-n-f-times\/","title":{"rendered":"Congress releases manifesto for 2024 polls, focus on caste census and \u2018Paanch Nyays\u2019 &#8211; N.F Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>New Delhi:<\/strong> Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, on Friday, released the party\u2019s \u2018Paanch Nyay\u2019 manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.<\/p>\n<p>Releasing the manifesto, the party said that it will conduct a nationwide caste census to \u201cidentify the castes and sub-castes and their socio-economic conditions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The party also said that it will work for the upliftment of weaker sections of society with its \u2018Paanch Nyay and Twenty-Five Guarantee\u2019 focus.<\/p>\n<p>The party released the manifesto in the presence of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and other top leaders of the party including P. Chidambaram, K. C. Venugopal and others.<\/p>\n<p>While launching the manifesto, the party also drew a parallel between UPA and NDA eras and claimed that the former surpassed the latter in terms of economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>P. Chidambaram, Finance Minister in UPA government, slammed the government for \u201cslowing\u201d down the economy, compared to the UPA era and also accused it of diminishing democratic institutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEconomy grew at 8.5 per cent in UPA\u2019s first term and average growth stood at 7.5 per cent in 10 years of Manmohan Singh government. However, under BJP government, the economy saw growth of 6.7 per cent and average growth has been 5.8 per cent over the past 10 years of Modi government,\u201d Chidambaram said.<\/p>\n<p>Chidambaram further stated that the worst fears expressed by Congress in 2019, have come true under BJP-led government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we had predicted in 2019 has come to pass in 2024.
