\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n London: Kate Middleton, The Princess of Wales, penned down an emotional letter to the Irish Guards to extend her best wishes to the Colonel\u2019s Review in London on Saturday.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Amidst her ongoing cancer battle, Kate, the regiment\u2019s colonel, expressed regret at missing the ceremony, which was the penultimate rehearsal for the Trooping the Colour march.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI wanted to write and let you know how proud I am of the entire regiment ahead of the Colonel\u2019s Review and Trooping the Colour,\u201d the letter said.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI appreciate everyone trooping this year has been practising for months and dedicating many hours to ensuring their uniforms and drill are immaculate.\u201d<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n She further stressed that it is a \u201cgreat honour\u201d to be a Colonel, adding that \u201cI am very sorry that I\u2019m unable to take the salute at this year\u2019s Colonel\u2019s Review.\u201d<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cPlease pass my apologies to the whole regiment, however, I do hope that I am able to represent you all once again very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Responding to Kate, The Irish Guards stated that they were \u201cdeeply touched\u201d by her letter. They wished her speedy recovery and sent their best wishes as continues cancer treatment.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The letter comes days after Royal sources revealed that Kate may \u201cnot appear in public for the rest of the year\u201d amid her ongoing cancer treatment. \u201cLots of people involved in planning need to know what all the principals are doing a long way in advance. I am told that Kate\u2019s diary for this year is empty. There is nothing planned. She may not appear in public for the rest of the year,\u201d a royal source told The Daily Beast.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n While appearing in Newcastle earlier this month, Prince William provided an update on Kate\u2019s health.
