\u201cI am utterly shocked and disgusted by this shameful decision,\u201d Israel\u2019s ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan stated. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the UN of putting \u201citself today on history\u2019s blacklist\u201d by adopting \u201cthe absurd claims of Hamas.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe IDF is the most moral army in the world and no delusional decision by the UN will change that\u201d, <\/span>he wrote, referring to the IDF.<\/span><\/p>\n The Palestinian representative, Riyad Mansour, praised the designation as \u201can important step\u201d toward accountability while expressing unhappiness that it could not \u201cbring back the lives of children killed or left permanently disabled in Israeli military attacks.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n According to sources, the Palestinian groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad will also appear on the annual \u201cChildren and Armed Conflict\u201d list for violating child rights.<\/span><\/p>\n Human Rights Watch praised Israel\u2019s inclusion as \u201cthoroughly justified, albeit long overdue\u201d, while also supporting the listings of Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups.<\/span><\/p>\n Israeli officials have strongly rejected the allegations, with Erdan suggesting the listing will only further incentivize Hamas to use civilians as human shields.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
