Putin has warned it would \u201cnot go unpunished\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-transform: initial;\">The G7 and the EU froze around 300 billion euros ($325 billion) of Russian central bank reserves, days after Moscow ordered troops into Ukraine in February 2022. The <\/span>G7 leaders agreed Thursday on a new $50 billion loan for Ukraine using profits from interest on frozen Russian assets, a move US President Joe Biden said showed Moscow \u201cwe\u2019re not backing down\u201d.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n<p>On Friday, Putin said Western countries were trying to come up with \u201csome kind of legal basis\u201d to justify these \u201cbut despite all the trickery, theft is still theft and will not go unpunished\u201d.<\/p>\n<div id=\"native\" class=\"barrons-body-ad-placement\">\n<div class=\"barrons-body-ad ad-span\">\n<p><span style=\"text-transform: initial;\">The Russian leader also warned the standoff between Moscow and the West was coming \u201cunacceptably close to the point of no return\u201d.
