New Delhi:<\/strong> AIMIM Chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday sparked controversy at the very beginning of the 18th Lok Sabha as he raised \u201cJai Palestine\u201d slogan while concluding his oath as a member of the Lok Sabha.<\/p>\n While taking oath as an MP in the 18th Session of the Lok Sabha, Owaisi ended his oath with the words, \u201cJai Bhim, Jai Meem, Jai Telangana, Jai Palestine.\u201d<\/p>\n The Hyderabad MP Owaisi also posted on X, \u201cSworn in as a member of Lok Sabha for the fifth time. Inshallah, I will continue to raise issues of India\u2019s marginalised with sincerity.\u201d<\/p>\n When questioned about his \u2018Jai Palestine\u2019 remark, Owaisi responded, \u201cThe people there is deprived. Mahatma Gandhi has spoken extensively on Palestine; one can refer to his writings.\u201d<\/p>\n Defending his action, Owaisi said, \u201cEveryone is saying a lot of things\u2026 I just said \u201cJai Bhim, Jai Meem, Jai Telangana, Jai Palestine\u201d\u2026How it is against, show the provision in the Constitution?\u201d<\/p>\n Asaduddin Owaisi secured a fifth consecutive victory from Hyderabad, Telangana, defeating BJP\u2019s Madhavi Latha Kompella by a margin of 338,087 votes in the recent parliamentary elections.<\/p>\n Owaisi\u2019s slogan in the Lok Sabha led to significant uproar among some MPs. In response to the controversy, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy stated that Owaisi\u2019s choice to say \u201cJai Palestine\u201d, who have opposed saying \u201cBharat Mata ki Jai\u201d implies his action was deliberate and against the house rules.<\/p>\n \u201cAIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi\u2019s \u2018Jai Palestine\u2019 slogan in Parliament today is absolutely incorrect and against the rules of the House.
