Ladakh<\/strong>: In a tragic incident that came to light on Saturday, five Army soldiers were killed during a tank warfare exercise in the Ladakh region when the stream through which the tanks were passing suddenly got flooded.<\/p>\n According to an IANS report quoting officials, from Leh town of Ladakh region, an exercise of tank warfare was going on in the Daulat Beg Ode area near the line of actual control (LAC) on Friday.<\/p>\n Details On The Mishap<\/strong><\/p>\n A stream that was being crossed by the tanks during this exercise suddenly got flooded due to cloudbursts in the higher reaches. \u201cA tank was caught in the flashflood wherein five soldiers got killed,\u201d sources said. The sources ruled out any sabotage in this accident. Those killed in this mishap include a Junior Commissioned Officer.<\/p>\n Rajnath Singh Reacts To Tragedy<\/strong><\/p>\n Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his sorrow on the tragic loss of lives of the Army soldiers in the incident. Singh stated that the nation will never forget the exemplary service of the soldiers and also informed that the nation stands with their bereaved families.<\/p>\n \u201cDeeply saddened at the loss of lives of five of our brave Indian Army soldiers in an unfortunate accident while getting the tank across a river in Ladakh.
