J&K: <\/strong>Four Army personnel were killed and six wounded as terrorists ambushed a military convoy in the secluded Machedi region of Jammu and Kashmir\u2019s Kathua district on Monday afternoon.<\/span><\/p>\n The wounded were transported to a hospital for medical care.<\/p>\n In the initial assault, terrorists lobbed a grenade and opened fire. The security forces responded, but the assailants escaped into the adjacent forest, according to officials.<\/p>\n The incident follows recent engagements in the Kulgam and Chinigham areas, where six\u00a0terrorists\u00a0were killed in two different\u00a0encounters in\u00a0Jammu and Kashmir, Brigadier Prithviraj Chauhan, Commander 1sec RR, said on Monday that the killing of\u00a0terrorists\u00a0in South Kashmir is a significant blow to Hizbul-Mujahideen.<\/p>\n \u201cOur troops responded to the terrorists\u2019 fire. We are awaiting further details,\u201d said defence officials.<\/p>\n The Army vehicles were on a routine patrol on the Machedi-Kindli-Malhar road when attacked about 150 km from Kathua.<\/p>\n This is the second attack on the Indian Army in the Jammu region in the past 48 hours.
