Bhubaneswar\/Puri<\/strong>: The new BJP government is going to fulfil the second major decision of its election manifesto. In the first decision, the four doors of the temple were opened and now the much-awaited Ratna Bhandar of Mahaprabhu Jagannath.<\/p>\n The Ratna Bhandar of Srimandir has not been open for 43 years. The opening of the Ratna Bhandar was a big issue for the previous BJD government and the case also landed in the Orissa High Court. The government informed the High Court that the Ratna Bhandar would be opened during the current Rath Yatra.<\/p>\n Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan has given detailed information about the opening of the Ratna Bhandar on Sunday (July 14). He said, \u201cBased on the recommendations of the Justice Biswanath Rath Committee and the management committee of the temple, the government has approved the guidelines or SOP for the opening of the Ratna Bhandar. After the final approval of the Chief Minister, it has been sent to the temple administration.\u201d<\/p>\n The law minister said, \u201cHow to open the Ratna Bhandar, how to repair it, how to weigh and identify each piece of jewellery, how to do the inventory flawlessly, all the provisions are contained in this guideline or SOP. Various committees have been formed and an expert committee has also been constituted to be led by the chief administrator of Srimandir.<\/p>\n The law minister said, \u201cThe opening of the treasury has been accepted as a \u2018special policy\u2019 of the Mahaprabhu. Therefore, arrangements have been made to synchronize this policy with other policies and rituals of the Holy Trinity. He said, \u201cThe help of the Reserve Bank of India has been sought for the inventory of the jewels of Ratna Bhandar. A representative of the Reserve Bank will be present at that time.\u201d<\/p>\n Similarly, arrangements have been made for the presence of the representatives of the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) to inspect the Ratna Bhandar thoroughly. Wherever they deem necessary, the interior of the Ratna Bhandar will be repaired. Likewise, the experts required for the work have been placed in different teams, the Law Minister added.<\/p>\n Harichandan said, \u201cThe responsibility of the entire process has been entrusted to the Chief Administrator of the Srimandir. The key of the Ratna Bhandar will be handed over to him tomorrow. If that key does work, the lock will be broken in the presence of a magistrate. This process will take several days. The Ratna Bhandar chambers will be opened one by one. Repairs, identification of jewellery, determination of weight and quality standards of jewellery, and counting will be done in phases.<\/p>\n The law minister said, \u201cIn the future, digital documentation of all the jewels of the Ratna Bhandar will be done. A catalog will be prepared and kept for the future along with taking digital photos of all the jewels. It will contain all the information such as photos, videos, weight and quality of each jewel. In the future, when if there is any queries about the inventory then everything can be clarified from that digital documentation.\u201d<\/p>\n The law minister said that the rituals of the Mahaprabhu and darshan for devotees will not be affected in any way during the repair and inventorisation of Ratna Bhandar.<\/p>\n In relation to the belief about the presence of venomous snakes inside the Ratna Bhandar, the law minister said that the opening of the Ratna Bhandar is being done after long years and the entire process has been placed under the feet of Mahaprabhu.
