Rourkela : A High Torque Low Speed Drive System facility for M2.2 Main Welding Machine was inaugurated at Spiral Welding Pipe Plant(SWPP) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) by Mr. S.R Suryawanshi, Executive Director (Works) on 27th February 2023. Present on the occasion were Mr. Debabrata Dutta, Chief General Manager I\/c (Services), Mr. Atish Chandra Sarkar, Chief General Manager(Quality), Mr. S.S.Roychoudhury, CGM (RMHP), Mr. R N Rajendran, CGM(Mechanical), Mr. Raja Kishore Muduli, CGM(Hot Strip Mill-2), Mr. Kartikeya Behera, CGM(CRM, SSM & PP ) and other seniors officers and employees of Spiral Welding Pipe Plant department.
\nIt is worth mentioning here that, the Hydro motor used at M2.2 main welding machine of spiral welding pipe plant was installed in the year 1976 and was giving frequent problems while using coils of more than 14 mm thick. Hence, it was replaced and a new system has been installed.
