External Affairs Minister Jaishankar on Wednesday<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>inaugurated the Mediclinic project (Jan Aushadi Kendra) at Grand Bois in Mauritius, supported by an Indian grant, describing it as the \u201clatest symbol of our friendship.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

At the project\u2019s inauguration, Jaishankar remarked that the initiative would offer secondary healthcare to 16,000 residents of the Grand Bois area.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that India\u2019s current partnership is enhancing Mauritius\u2019s welfare and affirmed India\u2019s enduring commitment.<\/p>\n

Jaishankar also praised Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jagnauth for the partnership.<\/p>\n

\u201cI applaud the Prime Minister for this initiative, for the collaboration tied to us\u2026which will significantly improve the lives of the ordinary citizens of this country,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on other Indian projects in Mauritius, Jaishankar noted they symbolize the strong ties between the two nations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe major projects we\u2019ve undertaken in Mauritius truly reflect our fondness, our bond, our familial connections, and each one of you is in some way linked to and has benefited from them\u2026,\u201d he expressed.<\/p>\n

He mentioned that the current Indian government, led by PM Narendra Modi, is dedicated to policies focused on the populace.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Jaishankar met with former Mauritian Prime Minister Paul Berenger to discuss current global matters. He acknowledged Berenger\u2019s support for the India-Mauritius relationship.<\/p>\n

Jaishankar arrived in Mauritius on Tuesday for a two-day state visit, during which he expressed gratitude to Mauritius Foreign Minister Maneesh Gobin for his warm welcome and stated that he looked forward to productive engagements to take forward the special relationship between the two nations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
