New Delhi: \u2018Absence makes the heart grow fonder\u2019 but then there is also \u2018out of sight, out of mind\u2019 to contend with, says Pakistan\u2019s ever popular Fawad Khan, tongue firmly in cheek as he addresses his time away from Indian audiences.<\/p>\n
Fawad, who became a favourite with Pakistani dramas and was briefly seen in Hindi films, the last appearance being \u201cAe Dil Hai Mushkil\u201d in 2016, now stars in the supernatural show \u201cBarzakh\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have always been very thankful to fans who have waited for me and I apologise for making them wait for so long. But it was not in my hands,\u201d the actor told PTI in a Zoom interview.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m a firm believer that everything has its own time\u2026 You say that \u2018absence makes the heart grow fonder\u2019 but we also have another saying, \u2018aankh ojhal, pahaad ojhal\u2019 . This also happens,\u201d the actor told PTI in an interview over Zoom.<\/p>\n
\u201cBarzakh\u201d, which sees him back with his \u201cZindagi Gulzar Hai\u201d co-star Sanam Saeed and created a stir with its trailers, started streaming from Friday on Zindagi\u2019s YouTube channel and ZEE5.<\/p>\n
The actor\u2019s popularity in the subcontinent has been growing since viewers discovered him in \u201cDastaan\u201d , \u201cHumsafar\u201d and \u201cZindagi Gulzar Hai\u201d . Then followed Hindi films \u201cKhubsoorat\u201d, \u201cKapoor & Sons\u201d and \u201cAe Dil Hai Mushkil\u201d. The promising Bollywood career could not take off at the time because of fraught India-Pakistan relations.<\/p>\n
However, Fawad, amongst Pakistan\u2019s most recognised actors, did international projects and several Pakistani shows and films.<\/p>\n
The stardom has been exciting but also challenging and increasingly competitive.<\/p>\n
The actor said he is not very active on social media out of choice.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo be able to hold on to your position of being a renowned actor has become more difficult, especially in the age of social media\u2026 There are performers and talented people everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
