New Delhi: Members of the INDIA bloc on Wednesday protested in Parliament over the \u201cdiscrimination\u201d against the opposition-ruled states in the Union Budget. The Congress has alleged that the budget had \u201cblacked out\u201d states where there are non-BJP governments. It also alleged that non-BJP-ruled states were not even mentioned in Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman\u2019s speech.<\/p>\n
Sitharaman, however, responded to the charge by saying that it is not possible to name every state of this country.<\/p>\n
Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman is responding to the Opposition\u2019s charge that only two states benefitted from yesterday\u2019s Budget. She also responded to the charge that non-BJP-ruled states were not even mentioned in the Budget speech.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t mention Maharashtra, but we have approved a port in the State. It is worth Rs. 76,000 crores,\u201d Sitharaman says. \u201cDid Congress FMs mention all State names during their Budget speeches?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a deliberate attempt of the Opposition led by Congress to give the impression to people that nothing has been given to our states. This is an outrageous allegation\u2026\u201d Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in Rajya Sabha.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
