Washington: White House National Security Council spokesman Sean Savett has said that president Joe Biden is \u201cclosely monitoring events in Israel and Lebanon.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hezbollah has reportedly said that it has completed the first phase of its attack on Israel with \u201ca large number of missiles\u201d in response to commander Fuad Shukr\u2019s killing. The Lebanese group said that it has fired over 320 Katyusha rockets at 11 Israeli military bases and barracks, which include the Meron base and four sites in the occupied Golan Heights.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe has been engaged with his national security team throughout the evening,\u201d Savett said of Biden. \u201cAt his direction, senior US officials have been communicating continuously with their Israeli counterparts. We will keep supporting Israel\u2019s right to defend itself, and we will keep working for regional stability.\u201d<\/p>\n
