France: Melinda French Gates said that top CEOs who say they sleep for less hours to put in more at work are \u201cso dumb\u201d. On those top bosses who claim to sleep three or four hours a night, the philanthropist told Vanity Fair, \u201cSome of us didn\u2019t want to be around them! Let\u2019s be honest!\u201d She also shared that she aims to sleep for seven or eight hours every night.<\/p>\n
Melinda French Gates\u2019 ex-husband Bill Gates said earlier that in his youth he was influenced by other entrepreneurs bragging about not needing enough sleep which led him to believe that \u201csleep is laziness and unnecessary\u201d. At the time, he also copied these people but now he aims for a minimum of seven hours of sleep each night.<\/p>\n
He had then said, \u201c[I] would be like, \u2018I only sleep six hours.\u2019 And the other guy says, \u2018I only sleep five!\u2019 and \u2018Well, sometimes I don\u2019t sleep at all. I\u2019d be like, \u2018Wow, those guys are so good. I need to try harder, because sleep is laziness and unnecessary.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
The Microsoft co-founder changed his habits after his father was diagnosed with Alzheimer\u2019s disease, he shared, saying, \u201cOne of the strongest things to emerge in [the Alzheimer\u2019s] area is the importance of good sleep. It\u2019s one of the most predictive factors of any dementia, including Alzheimer\u2019s, whether you\u2019re getting good sleep.\u201d<\/p>\n
Even Elon Musk has talked about pulling all-nighters and sleeping under his desk when his electric vehicle company Tesla tried to meet its production goals. But last year, he said he changed his sleeping habit and now tries to sleep for at least six hours every night.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
