(WAVES Anime &amp; Manga Contest) in Delhi on November 30th, 2024. Taking place at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication in Delhi, this recent edition of WAM! attracted a passionate audience and highlighted the vast creative talents of Indian manga, anime, and webtoon artists.<\/p>\n<p>Building on its success in Guwahati, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Varanasi, WAM! Delhi featured\u00a0199 participants\u00a0across categories including Manga (Japanese-style comics), Webtoon (digital comics), and Anime (Japanese-style animation). The event also hosted\u00a028 vibrant Cosplay and voice-acting participants, bringing beloved anime and gaming characters to life.<\/p>\n<p>The event was graced by Vietnamese actress, director, and producer\u00a0Mai Thu Huyen, American-Vietnamese producer and actress\u00a0Jacqueline Thao Nguyen, Mr\u00a0Sushil Kumar Bhasin, President of the Media &amp; Entertainment Association of India and\u00a0Mr Kamal Pahuja, Vice President of the Media &amp; Entertainment Association of India.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the event,\u00a0Mai Thu Huyen\u00a0praised the talent emerging from India and shared her excitement for her upcoming theatrical release,\u00a0<em>A Fragile Flower<\/em>. She introduced the film as a powerful story of resilience and self-discovery, blending breathtaking visuals with a profound emotional narrative.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">WAM \u2013 \u2018WAVES, Anime &amp; Manga Contest\u2019 began its journey with a spectacular event at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi on 30th November, 2024. The Voice Acting contest, featuring 14 skilled participants, further demonstrated India\u2019s growing expertise in performance arts.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image002SJVK.jpg\" width=\"602\" height=\"402\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Adding to the excitement, the event featured an exclusive\u00a0sneak peek of TRIO, India\u2019s first anime currently under development by Vaibhavi Studios, igniting inspiration and anticipation among the audience.<\/p>\n<p>The day concluded with a grand award ceremony, where winners were felicitated by\u00a0Shri Anubhav Singh, OSD (BC) with charge of BC-I, II, III and NMC PA to OSD(BC) and Shri Gurmeet Singh, Executive Director, Electronics &amp; Computer Software Export Promotion Council of India.
