Kuchinda:<\/strong> A newborn girl was abandoned by someone in critical condition near a compound wall at Khandokata village under Kuchinda police limits in Sambalpur district, today.<\/p>\n Later, the baby was rescued by some locals and admitted to sub-divisional hospital (SDH) in Kuchinda for treatment.<\/p>\n According to a police source, the newborn was spotted by locals while lying near the house of one Dillip Sahu. She is undergoing treatment and her health condition is stable now.<\/p>\n \u201cA few residents of Khandokata village heard the newborn crying early in the morning and reached near the baby. Gradually, several others congregated at the spot. However, a man named Sanjay Patel from the village, who works in the government-run health facility, took her to the SDH,\u201d the cop said.<\/p>\n On being informed, Kuchinda police reached the hospital and launched a probe to find out the parents of the abandoned newborn.<\/p>\n \u201cPerhaps the child is an illegitimate one for which her parents had thrown the newborn on the roadside. Condition of the baby was critical when the abandoned child was rescued,\u201d a resident stated.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
