Gandhi Centenary without Ideology : BBP

Ganjam : On the occasion of the centenary of Mahatma Gandhi's arrival in Berhampur, a special function was held by Bharatiya Bikash Parishad in front of the Hanuman statue near the Ramlingeshwar temple on the 28th. Freedom fighter Padma Shri Padmacharan Nayak was felicitated on behalf of the institution on the occasion. Padma Shri Padmacharan Nayak was chief guest at the event and called to be inspired by Gandhi's ideals. Surendra Panigrahi, President of Bharatiya Bikash Parishad, presided over the function, while three former presidents of the Ganjam Bar Association, Sudhanshu Shekhar Panda, Bhagwan Sahu, Lalit Mohan Padhi, former Secretary Kailash Chandra Panigrahi and social activist Anil Kumar Panigrahi were present as guests. Gandhi's policy ideology was discussed. There were calls for Gandhi's main weapon, the "Non-Violence", to be enshrined in the Constitution and for the implementation of the Anti-Drug Act of 1956 in the state. Gurucharan Patra including brundaban Behera, Rabindra Samantaray, Kishore Patra and other members of Bharatiya Bikash Parishad were present and conducted the program.
