Khurda: A minor boy was allegedly stabbed to death today inside his home by an unidentified youth in Benapanjari village under Jatani police limits in Khurda district.
According to a source, the wrongdoer barged into the house all of a sudden and attacked the victim boy when he was studying in a room. The boy sustained grievous injuries in the incident.
The minor boy was rescued from a pool of blood by some locals and was later rushed to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Khordha town where he was declared dead on arrival.
On being informed, a team of Jatani police reached the spot and launched a probe into the death.
“The attacker was carrying a knife kept somewhere near his waist. He fled from the spot soon after committing the crime. However, the man could not be identified,” some locals expressed.
The cause behind the murderous attack has not been ascertained yet, a senior cop said.
Police have sent the body for post-mortem.
