New Delhi: Young and emerging Kiwi all-rounder Rachin Ravindra is making waves for his head-turning performance in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Named after two legendary Indian cricketers Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar, Ravindra was born to Indian-origin parents in New Zealand’s capital Wellington.

Recently, after his team almost qualified for the ICC CWC Semifinals with a thumping victory over Sri Lanka, the talented cricketer visited his grandparent’s house in Bengaluru and sought prayers and blessings from his grandmother. The adorable video of the same is now going viral on the internet.

In the video, Rachin’s Grandmother is seen offering traditional Hindu prayers for her grandson. She is also seen performing a special ritual for attracting positivity and eliminating negativity from one’s life.

Netizens are now hailing the cricketer for staying true to his Indian cultural roots despite being born and brought up miles away from India.

Rachin Ravindra’s World Cup glory

Named after two legendary Indian cricketers Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar, Rachin Ravindra was born to Indian-origin parents in New Zealand’s capital Wellington.

Back in his childhood days, he began his cricketing journey and started practicing his game by playing club cricket every year in Bangalore.

Today, his hard work, dedication, and passion for his game have made him the highest scorer Batsman in the cricketer’s biggest tournament ICC CWC 2023. In his 9-word cup innings so far, The youngster has scored 565 runs with a thumping strike rate of 108.44.

His splendid contribution to his team includes three centuries against former world Champions England Pakistan and Australia.

Besides that, Rachin has also dethroned the great Sachin Tendulkar by snatching the title of highest-run-scorer in a World Cup debut from him.
