Depiction on state’s rich maritime history at Odisha Pavilion has become the main attraction for visitors.
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Day was celebrated at India International Trade Fair (IITF)-2023 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi today.
Information and Public Relations Minister Pradip Kumar Amat graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Several cultural troupes from Odisha performed on the occasion. A troupe from Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalay performed Odissi dance while artistes of Adarsha Adivasi Nrutya Kala from Baipariguda in Koraput showcased Birli dance during the celebration.
The Dalkhai dance of Bargarh-based Baula Jhupa Sanskrutik Anusthan left the audience spellbound. Similarly, devotional song ‘Hara Hara Sambhu’ by Odia singer Abhilipsa Panda received warm response from the audience.
It is worth mentioning here that several departments of the state government have opened 24 stalls at the Odisha Pavilion at the trade fair.
These stalls are displaying various handloom and handicrafts products from different regions of Odisha.
Besides, the Odisha Pavilion is also showcasing rich tradition and culture of the state. The silk works of Odisha and the maritime history of the state have become the main attraction for the visitors at the pavilion.
Hundreds of visitors are thronging the Odisha Pavilion at the IITF-2023 to witness the live demonstration on the weaving of Lord Jagannath’s Khandua Pata by skilled artisans. Various products of Mission Shakti Self-help Groups and foods made from millets are also attracting the visitors, said an official.
