Bhubaneswar: Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) of Traffic can no longer collect fine and issue e-challans for violation of traffic rules in Odisha, the State Transport Authority (STA) said in a notification.
Earlier, the ASIs were empowered to compound offences and issue e-challans under the MV Act, 1988.
However, the STA has now withdrawn the authority from the ASIs.
