Dhenkanal: Around 40 persons sustained injuries as two trucks hit a picnic bus at Bhejia Chhak under Mahaveer Road police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district, today.
As per reports, the ill-fated bus carrying the picnickers was heading towards Badachana from Sambalpur as they were returning home.
While a truck hit the bus at Bhejia Chhak, another speeding truck rammed into the vehicle, moments later.
The bus was severely damaged under the impact of the collisions.
On being informed, police reached the spot and rescued the victims with the help of locals. The injured ones were admitted to a hospital at Mandapala in Talcher.
Condition of four of them, including a truck driver, was stated to be critical.
