Dense fog very likely in these Odisha districts for next 2 days; IMD issues Yellow Warning – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: With no significant synoptic system lying over the region, dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over several districts of Odisha during the next 48 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “Minimum temperatures observed appreciable fall at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were appreciably below normal at one or two places, below normal at one or two places, markedly above normal at one or two places, appreciably above normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at a few places and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: No major change in Minimum (night) temperature over the districts of Odisha during next five days. It is likely to be above normal by 2oC to 3oC at many places over the districts of Odisha during the same period.

The highest maximum temperature of 30.8°C was recorded at Paralakhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 9.5°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of South Odisha, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Koraput and Rayagada.

For Monday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 08.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 09.01.2024)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Koraput.
