Jajpur: An elderly man died after allegedly being attacked by a bull at Deoda village under Dharmasala police limits in Odisha’s Jajpur district.
The deceased person has been identified as Alekh Mallick, aged around 65 years.
According to reports, a bull roaming at the village attacked the old man while he was working in his garden near the house in the morning. His family members rushed the victim to Dharmasala CHC where he was declared dead.
“The bull has been wreaking havoc at the village in the past 3-4 months injuring many people. Even the villagers are scared of sending their children to schools and colleges. We approached the forest department, local police and fire services department in this regard, but went in vain. Around 40 people have been injured in bull attacks during the period. Today, the bull killed one elderly person in the village,” said Jashobant Patnaik, a villager.
