Champua: A baby girl was rescued from a bus stand in Champua in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Sunday night.
According to reports, a helper of a private bus namely ‘Dhabaleswar’ that was stationed at Champua Bus Stand found the baby girl wrapped in a plastic bag while inspecting the wheels of the vehicle at around 9 pm on Sunday.
He immediately informed the locals as well as the police about the incident. On receiving information, police reached the bus stand and sent the baby girl to Champua Sub-Divisional Hospital. The health condition of the rescued baby is stated to be normal.
It is suspected that the mother of the baby might have fled, abandoning her at the bus stand.
Police started an operation to trace the whereabouts of the baby girl’s mother.
