Phiringia: Locals panicked today after a Maoist poster was spotted on a culvert in Phiringia town of Kandhamal district, following the encounter of top cadre ultra leader Dasru and outlawed Kandhamal-Kalahandi-Boudh-Nayagarh (KKBN) division committee member on February 3.
According to a source, the poster was put up near Tehsil Office Chhak of the town. Scared residents informed about it to the police but the poster was not removed for quite a long time.
It is a busy road and hundreds of commuters pass through the route, some fearful locals expressed.
Worth mentioning, a few more posters were seen in Sadingia, Ribilada, and Gochhapada police limits.
The killing of Dasru has been condemned through the poster. He was carrying a bounty of Rs 5 lakh on his head and was gunned down by police during an exchange of fire at Kakerkupa of the district.
