International airport in Odisha’s Puri to be completed in 3 years; IDCO floats tender – N.F Times

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) has floated a tender for the construction of Sri Jagannath International Airport in Puri with an estimated cost of Rs 2,203 Crore, which is to be developed on public-private partnership (PPP) mode and completed in three years.

As per an official notification issued in this regard, the online tender process is scheduled to commence on February 21, and the opening of technical bids has been set for April 21. The international competitive bid was invited by IDCO’s Chief General Manager (P&C) on behalf of the State Commerce and Transport Department.

The ambitious international airport is to be built on a patch of land measuring around 1,164 Acres that has been demarcated near Sipasarubali locality in Puri. A Central civil aviation team has previously visited the proposed site. After completion, it will help increase tourist footfall in Puri to a great extent, an official source said.
