Retired Junior Horticulture Officer Gets 2-Yr RI in Bribery Case – N.F Times

Balasore: A retired Junior Horticulture Officer in Balasore district has been sentenced to undergo two years of rigorous imprisonment in a bribery case.

The accused has been identified as Brajendra Mishra, Junior Horticulture Officer (Retired), Nilgiri, Dist-Balasore.

Mishra was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act,1988 for demanding and accepting a bribe from a beneficiary for releasing the subsidy under the National Horticulture Mission (NHM) scheme.

He was convicted by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 2 years and a fine.

Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for the stoppage of the pension of Brajendra Mishra following his conviction.
