Shimla: Over 10 people have perished following a cloudburst near the Samej and Bagi bridges on Wednesday night, which swept away 45 individuals near Shrikhand in Himachal Pradesh.
Rescue operations are currently active in the area affected by the disaster. Baljinder Singh, Commandant of the 14th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), stated that the NDRF teams were dispatched to Himachal Pradesh well-prepared this year to prevent any delays in rescue efforts.
“The NDRF teams were positioned in remote areas of Himachal Pradesh this year to ensure prompt rescue operations. The cloudburst at Samej is a significant catastrophe,” Singh remarked.
