BC Jindal Group Acquires Hyderabad Football Club – N.F Times

New Delhi: Jindal Football, operating under the BC Jindal Group, has announced the acquisition of the sporting license for the Indian Super League (ISL) team, Hyderabad FC.

This move signifies the BC Jindal Group’s inaugural foray into the Indian sports landscape, emphasizing their commitment to enhancing the prestige of sports in India and creating opportunities for the nation’s youth to grow and compete internationally.

Hyderabad FC, also known as the Nawabs, is set to begin its season with an away game against Bengaluru FC on September 19.

Established on August 27, 2019, Hyderabad FC rapidly established itself by securing the ISL championship in the 2021-22 season, prevailing over Kerala Blasters in an exciting finale.

The team hosts its home matches at the G.M.C Balayogi Athletic Stadium, situated in the bustling suburb of Gachibowli in Hyderabad.

“With a population of 1.4 billion, India is a dormant powerhouse in football. Our investment in Hyderabad FC stems from a commitment to identify and tackle the challenges hindering Indian football. We aim to cultivate local talent and promote the development of the sport within the country,” expressed a spokesperson for Hyderabad FC, representing the new proprietors.

“Our vision is to see Indian athletes competing at the most elite international stages, and we aspire to witness India’s participation in the FIFA World Cup finals. This vision drives our engagement in Indian football,” he concluded.
