Puri: The Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration (SJTA) has announced that public darshan at the revered Puri Srimandir will be suspended from 5 PM to 8 PM tomorrow, September 15, 2024, due to the special rituals of ‘Bamana Janma Niti’. This decision has been taken to ensure the smooth conduct of the sacred ceremonies dedicated to the Holy Trinity – Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra.
The ‘Bamana Janma Niti’ is a significant ritual in the temple’s calendar, marking the birth of Lord Vamana, the fifth avatar of Lord Vishnu. During this time, the temple servitors will perform various traditional rites and rituals, which require the temple premises to be free from public interference.
According to the SJTA, the rituals will commence after the completion of the second Bhoga Mandap, and the temple will reopen for devotees immediately after the conclusion of the ceremonies. Devotees are requested to plan their visit accordingly and cooperate with the temple authorities to maintain the sanctity and order of the rituals.
