Amid Maha CM Suspense, Eknath Shinde Falls Sick As He Reaches Native Village – N.F Times

Maharashtra’s caretaker Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, experienced a decline in health on Saturday at his native village in Satara.

A medical team visited his residence for a checkup and recommended rest. His illness began after he arrived at the village.

Dr RM Parte, Shinde’s physician, mentioned that the Shiv Sena leader is suffering from a fever, cold, and throat infection. He has received saline treatment for the viral infection and is expected to recover within a couple of days.

Amidst the efforts to form a new government in Maharashtra, the acting Chief Minister, Shinde, abruptly cancelled all his meetings in Mumbai and retreated to his village, sparking widespread speculation about his forthcoming actions. This unexpected move has intensified the mystery surrounding his future role in the Mahayuti government and the identity of the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Earlier that day, the Shiv Sena faction led by Shinde formally requested the Home Ministry portfolio in the new Cabinet. Describing it as Shinde’s demand, the party asserted that the request was justified.
