Actor Allu Arjun has been arrested by the police in connection with a woman’s death that occurred at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during the premiere of the actor’s film Pushpa 2. According to a report by news agency ANI, the actor was picked up from his residence on Friday morning and has been taken to Chikkadpally police station.
Why is Allu Arjun Arrested?
On December 4, just a day ahead of the release of the highly-hyped Pushpa 2, the makers organized a special screening of the film in Hyderabad. The event was attended by Allu Arjun, and an influx of fans thronged Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. The chaos unfolded when a large number of fans rushed to the exit to catch a glimpse of their favorite actor, creating a stampede situation. As a result, the theater’s main gate collapsed.
During the stampede, a 35-year-old woman lost her life, whereas her 9-year-old son sustained major injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Following this, CNN-News18 reported that multiple cases were filed against the actor in relation to the incident. Additionally, a case was filed against Sandhya Theatre for criminal negligence, with Sections 105 and 118(1) BNS imposed on the theater.
