Jajpur, Dec 30: A district-level review meeting of the Dharmasala Assembly Constituency Development Committee was held on Tuesday at the Collectorate conference hall to assess the status of ongoing development works and sector-wise implementation across the constituency. The meeting was chaired by Dharmasala MLA Coordination Key to Timely Project Completion: Dharamshala MLAÂ Sekhar Sahoo, who directed officials of various departments to ensure faster execution of projects and timely resolution of field-level issues.
Stressing accountability, the MLA said coordinated efforts among departments were essential for effective delivery of public infrastructure and services. District Collector Ambar Kumar Kar and Superintendent of Police Yashpratap Shrimall attended the meeting. Officials briefed the house on implementation challenges faced in select projects, assuring that pending works would be taken up on priority through joint administrative action. Infrastructure development dominated the discussions, with special focus on road connectivity, street lighting, rural electrification, bridge construction and maintenance of existing assets. The MLA underlined the need for improving drainage systems and ensuring uninterrupted power supply, particularly in rural and semi-urban pockets.
Issues related to law and order were also reviewed. Discussions were held on strengthening police deployment in the district to maintain public safety. The proposal for construction of a new police beat house at Jaraka was taken up for consideration to enhance local policing and response time. The committee also reviewed the status of health infrastructure in the constituency. Emphasis was laid on strengthening primary healthcare services. In view of reported water scarcity in certain areas, the District Collector instructed officials to take immediate steps to ensure adequate drinking water supply.
Detailed reviews were conducted on schemes and projects being implemented by departments including agriculture, health, irrigation, minor and lift irrigation, animal husbandry, skill development, power, sports, forest, mining and minor minerals, transport, roads and buildings, and rural development. Chief Development Officer-cum-CEO of Zilla Parishad Debi Prasad Mahanti, Sub-Collector Tapas Ranjan Dehuri, Deputy Director of Planning and Statistics Archita Das, along with senior officials from line departments, were present at the meeting. The review concluded with instructions to monitor progress closely and ensure visible improvement in civic amenities and essential services across the Dharamshala Assembly constituency.
