Project ‘Samahan’, a new SAP initiative for Odisha Group of Mines launched by Finance Department of SAIL, RSP

Rourkela : A new SAP initiative for Odisha Group of Mines, Project ‘Samahan’ was launched by the Finance & Accounts Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant on 5th September at the Conference hall of Finance & Accounts Deptt. The meeting was chaired by Mr. A K Behuria, CGM In Charge (F&A). Present on the occasion were Mr. P K Rath, CGM In Charge (Mines), Mr. S K Nayak, CGM (F&A), Mr. Kausik Sengupta, CGM (C&IT) and other Senior officers of the Plant as well as SAP Core team members.
It is worth mentioning here that, M/s Ernst & Young a leading consultant in the field has been appointed as Implementation Partner for the project that aims at consolidating the business activities of RSP and Odisha Group of Mines for better commercial and financial management and transparency. This would help in direct access to relevant information and data with regard to despatch, profit and overall performance of the mines on real time basis.
In his Opening address, Mr. Behuria said that the project will fulfill the long cherished dream of the employees working in the mines of RSP as it would help in streamlining of a number of processes. He has also stressed on timely implementation and stabilization of the project.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rath expressed his happiness over the commencement of the project “Samahan” and assured all the support for successful and timely implementation of the project.
Mr Nayak, explained the various modules to be implemented and the timeline of the activities. Mr. Sengupta discussed various hardware and networking issues likely to come up during the implementation and assured for the early resolution of the issues for successful implementation.
