Bhubaneswar: Following editorials published in ‘Sambad’ against Odisha 5T Secretary VK Pandian, BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik expelled Khandapada MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik from the party.
After an FIR by one ex-employee of Sambad’ with EOW alleging loan scam involving the newspaper, the BJD took action against Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, who is the editor of Sambad.
Besides, the party chief also expelled Remuna MLA Sudhansu Sekhar Parida from the BJD citing ‘corruption’ and ‘anti-people activity’. Allegedly, the legislator had misappropriated the government subsidy meant for farmers more than Rs 3 crore during the period from 2017-18 to 2019-20. The case is being inquired by the State Vigilance on the orders of Lokayukta.
