Dasarathpur: A youth who had gone missing since yesterday was spotted today by some locals while lying in a bamboo forest under mysterious circumstances near Kani riverbank and Palasahi village of Mallikapur panchayat under Dasarathpur police limits in Jajpur.
The deceased youth was identified as 25-year-old Sabyasachi Nayak, the son of Chittaranjan Nayak from Mohantypatana village in the district.
According to an official source, family members of Sabyasachi launched a frantic search at all possible locations to trace him out but to no avail. He was spotted in the morning. Some residents later informed the police about it. A team of police reached the spot and launched a probe into the incident.
Dasarathpur police have seized the body of Sabyasachi and sent it to hospital for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, the family of Sabyasachi has alleged that the youth has been murdered.
“Drug peddling is rampantly going on in the district. Sabyasachi has been killed and we suspect the involvement of some drug addicts in the crime,” a relative of the victim stated.
Based on an FIR lodged by the family, Dasarathpur police have sought the help of a scientific team in the investigation which is underway, a senior policeman of the local PS informed.
