Bhubaneswar (Bureau) : A national folk festival is to be organised by Kalanjali Artistry Trust from October 7th. The event spread over 3 days will have folk artists across the nation performing various folk arts from different states and territories. The organiser as well as social worker Sunil Mangaraj spoke about this in a press conference. He also added that folk dance such as horse and doll dance, chhau dance are the traditional dance form of the state of Odisha. These art forms are seen in different occasions namely the Chaitra full moon and the Makar sankranti event and many more. But nowadays it is starting to lose it’s charm. To revamp and to secure it’s future this event is being organised. The founder and co-organiser Rameshwari Nanda informed about Prof Ganeshi Lal, Hon’ble Governor of Odisha has accepted to honour the event being Chief Guest. Eminent dignitaries like BBSR Mayor Sulochana Dash, Cuttack Deputy Mayor Damayanti Majhi, Cuttack Mayor Subash Singh, Bikram Panda, MLA Berhampur, Prabhat Ranjan Biswal, Ex-MLA, Choudwar-Cuttack, Debasish Samantaray, Ex-MLA, Barabati-Cuttack, Actor Hara Ratha, Harihar Mahapatra, Subhashree Mukharjee, (Chau Dancer), Ardhendu Sekhar Panigrahi, Treasurer (KAT), Priyanka Sahani (Folk Drawing Artist), Chandan Barik (Founder Cum Director of Kalinga Paika Association) and many more were present at today’s press conference.
