BHILAI STEEL PLANT REMEMBERS COLLEAGUES WHO LOST THEIR LIVES IN 2018 GAS MISHAP

Senior offices of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant led by Director I/c Shri Anirban Dasgupta gathered at Rising Bhilai Udyan near Boria Gate on 9th Oct 2022 to pay condolences to the victims of the gas mishap that took place on 9th October 2018. Shri A K Bhatta, ED (MM), Shri Anjani Kumar, ED (Works), Shri Tapan Sutradhar, ED (Mines), Shri M M Gadre, ED (P & A), Shri S Mukhopadhyay, ED (Projects), Dr. A K Panda, ED (Finance), Dr. M Ravindranath, CMO I/c (M & HS), Shri G P Singh, Actg. CGM (Safety & FS), CGM’s, Shri B K Mahapatra, CFO(Fire Brigade), Shri N K Banchhor, President, Officers Association, Shri Parvinder Singh, General Secretary(OA), Shri Anand Ramteke, SC/ST Association, Shri Ravi Shankar Singh(BMS), Shri Indramani Mishra (BMS), Shri Channa Keshvalu(BMS), Shri Sanjay Sahu and Shri Puran Verma from INTUC, Shri Sheikh Mahmood from Ispat Shramik Manch, Shri Yogesh Soni(CITU), Shri Ajay Soni(CITU), Shri Shiv Bahadur Singh(BWU), Shri T B Rao(BWU),Shri Shymlal Sahu(AICTU), Shri Sharda Gupta, Shri Nandkishore Gupta(SWU) and other representative of workers union were physically present at Rising Bhilai Udyan near Boria Gate to pay condolences and observe a two-minute silence. Other members of the Bhilai collective including members of Safety Engineering department, Energy Management department , Fire Services department also joined in the gathering , paying condolences by offering flowers before portraits of their departed colleagues and observing two minute silence.

Saplings were also planted at the Udyan to pay homage to the gas mishap victims. At the outset, Shri Ajay Talloo, SM (SED) administered the Safety Oath. Shri Suprio Sen from SRG conducted the proceedings of the programme.
