Kuakhia, Pratap Prusty : On Wednesday evening, Jajpur Police has been able to crack a truck theft racket. In this connection, police has arrested the four accused, the receivers and the mediator in dealing buying and selling. Moreover, one stolen ten wheeler truck, cash Rs. 2,03,000/-, a red colour Swift Dezire car, a bike and the incriminating articles have been seized from possession of the accused.
According to the sources of information, acting upon the various cases regarding theft of trucks registered at several police station of Jajpur, Sri Rahul R.P, IPS, SP Jajpur ordered to the Jajpur police to form a special team to crack the racket under the supervision of Sri Sanjay Pattanaik, OPS, SDPO, Jajpur headed by Insp. Sri Umakant Nayak, IIC Jenapur P.S, Insp. Sri Sibacharan Behera, IIC Kuakhia P.S and Insp. Rakesh Kumar Tripathy, IIC Dharmashala P.S along SI Jahara Abedin, ASI Pralay Utara Ray. Accordingly, on getting information from the reliable sources, the Police team conducted raid in various places of Jajpur, Puri, GOP, Astaranga and Banamalipur concurrently. During this raid, Police were able to arrest four accused namely 1);Satyaprakash Dora(21)@alias Sipun, S/O-Purnachandra Dora@alias Babuli of Thanuwal, Dharmasala, 2) Satyaranjan Dora@alias Gagan(21), S/O-Gunduchi Dora of Thanuwal, 3) Deepak Dehury(20), S/O- Gouranga Dehury of Jharsala Thanuwal and 4) Srinivas Dora@alias Sonu (22), S/I O- Amulya Dora of Nuagan P.S Dharmasala. In addition to that, Police also arrested two persons in connection with receiving the stolen materials namely 1) Suryakanta Dora(34)@alias Guru, S)O-Sankar Nayak of Kuhudi, P S Astaranga and 2) Sunil Manika (35)@alias Soni, S/O- Late Netrananda Manika of Banamipur, PS Balipatana. The third receiver of this case namely SK Riyazul Haque (34)@alias Raju Mian, S/O- SK Sadakat of Gop P.S has absconded and yet to be arrested. Besides, the persons involved in mediating the deal namely Manaranjan Behera(23), S/O-Somnanath Behera if Orapata Charichhak, PS Nimapada was also arrested in this connection.
The prima facie of this racket, suggests that the racket was involved in various theft cases like the case registered at Kuakhia P.S vide No.319/22, dtd-15.10.22 u/s 379 IPC, Dharmasala P.S case vide No 535/22, dtd-26.09.22 u/s 379 IPC, Jenapur P.S case vide No. 237/22, dtd-29.08.22, 246/22, dtd-12.09.22 & 356/22, dtd-05.10.22, u/s 379 IPC. The accused will be forwarded to court for further disposal.
